The assistant manager at the New Martinsville office, is rude, and does not do her job.... we have had Erie Insurance for years, several policies, one being on our deceased mothers place... she passed away in Dec. of 2019, we went in end of Jan. or first of Feb. 2020, and had death certificate, and we have owned the property since 2006, she had living rights there, asked the policy be put in our name, they little lady said no problem she would take care of it... the last 5 years we have paid the payments from Our Checking Account. just this past week due to storms the air conditioner blew up, we went in to file a claim. The assistant manager said we were not insured, only thing she could do would be to write a check in our deceased mothers name, we said you cannot do that, that is Fraud, she said well sorry, but you are not insured. I asked to speak with the manager, she informed us she was the assistant manager and we DID not need to speak with anyone else. She also said she does not work for Erie Insurance, she works for JW Potts, and I said yes, but this agency handles Erie Insurance, she said again, I do not work for Erie Ins. I had all of my paper work on continuation of policies and paid and cashed check copies for the last 5 years, she would not even look at the paperwork, just said you are not insured, the policy holder is your mother. I said it is not our fault that the policy was not updated correctely when we were in in 2020, she said that lady no longer works here, and it is not my problem. I asked for headquarters for Erie Ins. phone number, she said sure, go ahead and call, won't do you any good....... She then said you people are being rude, just leave my office....... well guess what after calling the head office, getting a VERY NICE claims person, she said YES you are insured, and yes you can file a claim...... due to the rudness and no help at all from the assistant manager at JW Potts agency in New Martinsville, we will be transferring our business to another Erie Insurance Agency.... This lady, assistant manager, at JW. Potts in New Martinsville, WV, is a very incompent employee, and she has no doubt lost alot of business for Erie Insurance .....E & J Probst well guess what, they were wrong, filed a claim and got our money, however. Because we proved them wrong and reported Aoril assistant manager to Erie headquarters, they terminated our policy, that's fine we would gave dropped them anyway, so incompetent.

Very expensive, they were double the other 2 quotes. Also the staff were not very professional. I walked in to find a customer who had been there 10 minutes before me and she couldn’t find any employees. After another 15 minutes of the 2 of us waiting a man and a woman came out of a back office and didn’t seem concerned that we were waiting all that time. Strange…
