This Privacy Policy explains how nocarplan.com ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit nocarplan.com (the "Site"). nocarplan.com is an independent directory and is not a licensed insurance agency — see our Terms of Service for details.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly (such as when you submit a quote request or contact form), and information collected automatically when you use the Site, including:

  • Quote request data: your name, email address, age range (if provided), state, ZIP code, insurance need, current coverage situation, stated priority, and the consent record attached to your request.
  • Usage data: pages visited, clicks, referring URLs, session duration — collected via Google Analytics.
  • Device data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system.
  • Interaction data: when you click to contact an agent, visit their website, or click a partner quote link, we log the action to measure directory usage.

How We Use Information

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the directory.
  • To measure traffic and engagement.
  • To match a quote request to one nearby participating insurance agency and place the request in that agency's private portal when you explicitly consent to the introduction.
  • To offer optional quote-comparison links operated by affiliate partners when you choose to visit one.
  • To detect abuse and enforce our Terms.

We do not use a quote request as consent for unrelated marketing or SMS messages. The participating agency may use the provided email address to respond to the specific request you submitted.

Cookies & Tracking

We use the following categories of cookies:

  • Strictly Necessary: Required for the Site to function (session management, security). Cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4 measures page views, session duration, and navigation paths. Data is aggregated and pseudonymized. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Advertising / Affiliate:Partner redirect links (/go/[partner]) may set third-party cookies when you land on a partner site. Those cookies are governed by the partner's privacy policy.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling analytics cookies does not affect your ability to use the directory.

Affiliate Partners

Advertising disclosure:nocarplan.com may earn a referral fee when you click partner links (for example, "Compare Quotes") or complete a quote with one of our partners. This does not affect the price you pay, and partner selection does not influence agent listings in our directory. When you click a partner link, you may be redirected to a third-party service with its own privacy policy.

Agent Listings

Agent directory data (name, business address, phone number, website, ratings) comes from publicly available sources. Agents may contact us at hello@nocarplan.com to request corrections or removal; we aim to process verified requests within 14 days.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. When you submit a quote request and explicitly agree to an agency introduction, we share the request contact, location, insurance-need, coverage-situation, and priority fields with one participating agency selected using your location and insurance need. We do not share your age range through the agency portal, and we do not broadcast the request to multiple agencies. If no eligible agency is available, the request is not disclosed through the agency portal.

We share limited data (device identifiers and usage data) with analytics providers such as Google Analytics, which may constitute "sharing" under California law. We also share information with service providers necessary to operate the Site (such as hosting and analytics), with an affiliate partner when you choose to leave the Site for that partner's service, or when required by law.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to operate the Site and fulfill the purposes described in this Policy:

  • Analytics data (GA4): 14 months (Google Analytics default retention).
  • Click / interaction logs: 24 months, then aggregated and de-identified.
  • User-submitted reports: retained while the relevant agent listing is active. Deleted within 30 days of a verified deletion request.
  • Quote requests and consent records: retained only as long as needed to provide, secure, and audit the requested introduction, after which they are deleted or de-identified. You may request deletion using the contact information below, subject to legal and fraud-prevention exceptions.
  • Contact inquiries: 12 months from last correspondence.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right to Know: Request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
  • Right to Delete: Request deletion of personal information we hold about you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing:We do not sell personal information. We share limited data with analytics providers which may constitute "sharing" under California law. You may opt out via the Google Analytics opt-out link above or by using your browser's cookie controls.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

California residents may submit requests under CCPA/CPRA by emailing hello@nocarplan.comwith the subject line "California Privacy Request". We will respond within 45 days. Residents of Virginia, Colorado, and Connecticut have similar rights under their respective state privacy laws and may submit requests using the same contact address.

For visitors from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Site as the lawful basis for analytics processing. You may object to this processing, request access, rectification, restriction, or deletion, and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Analytics data is processed by Google and may be transferred to the United States under Google's data processing terms.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when it was last revised.
