SR-22 in Texas
Texas requires SR-22 filing for 2 years after qualifying violations. Required after DWI, driving without insurance, or certain at-fault accidents. Duration is 2 years from the date of conviction, crash, or court judgment. Your insurer files the SR-22 electronically with Texas DPS; SR-26 is filed automatically on lapse, which re-suspends the license and restarts the 2-year clock.
