NoCar Plan exists to answer one question well: where can someone who doesn't own a car — or who needs an SR-22 — actually get insured? This policy explains who maintains the site, where the information comes from, how listings are ordered, and how we make money, so you can judge our content on its merits.
Who Writes and Maintains This Content
NoCar Plan is independently owned and operated. Our guides, state pages, and city pages are written and maintained by the NoCar Plan team, drawing on state DMV and insurance-department requirements and publicly available carrier information. Directory listings are maintained through the verification pipeline described on our How We Verify Agents page.
We are not an insurance company, and no one on the team sells insurance. Content is written to help readers find a licensed professional, not to replace one — always confirm coverage details with a licensed agent in your state.
Data Sources and Update Cadence
- Guides and state pages are reviewed periodically and updated when state requirements change.
- Directory listings are continuously enriched: agency-website reviews run in batches, reader reports are processed as they arrive, and owner updates apply when a listing is claimed.
- Verification flags(SR-22 filing, non-owner policies, filing speed) carry different levels of confidence depending on their source — the full breakdown is on How We Verify Agents.
Ranking Policy
Default ordering in the directory is data-driven. Agents with verified offerings and stronger ratings appear first; we do not hand-pick winners, and no agent can pay to change how their verification flags, ratings, or reader reports appear.
The only paid placement on NoCar Plan is the clearly labeled ★ Featuredbadge, which owners of claimed listings can purchase. Featured placement affects position only: it never alters verification flags, never adds or removes reviews, and never hides reader reports. If you see the badge, the agency paid for placement — everything else on the listing is earned.
Affiliate Disclosure
Some quote-comparison links on this site pay us a commission when you use them. Our current partners are The Zebra, Policygenius, and QuoteWizard. Using these links costs you nothing extra.
Commissions never affect agent listings or rankings. Affiliate partners are quote-comparison services presented separately from the directory; an agency cannot become a partner to improve its listing, and partner relationships play no role in verification.
Corrections
We want to know when we're wrong. Every agent listing has a report form for corrections — closed offices, wrong numbers, inaccurate product flags. For anything else, reach us through the contact page. Verified corrections are applied to the listing; our verification methodology, including how reader reports are handled, is documented on How We Verify Agents.
Independence
Agents and agencies cannot pay to remove reader reports, suppress corrections, or gain “verified” status. Verification is earned through the evidence-based process described in our methodology, and it is not for sale. When the honest answer about an agency is “unknown,” that is what the directory shows.
